We offer Late Reassurance Scans from 14 weeks gestation onwards. Our Late Reassurance Scan is a 2D scan where we will take multiple measurements of a baby’s growth to make sure everything is keeping within normal parameters.
Scan will include:
- Fetal Measurements ( Head Circumference, Abdominal Circumference and Femur Length)
- Measure amniotic fluid level
- Check the Umbilical Cord and verify the number of vessels
- Check placenta location
- Estimate fetal heart rate
This scan will also allow you to see your baby and confirm the baby’s heartbeat through our immersive surround sound.
At 14 weeks plus your baby is almost fully formed, which means you should be able to recognise their necks and notice that their head is able to sit up from their chest. Depending on your baby’s position we should be able to identify its head, feet and arms. Around this time you may also start to see some facial moments …very exciting.

What are the
benefits?
Your pregnancy journey can be a worrying time, especially for parents who have had difficult pregnancies previously. In this scan, we can check in on your baby’s heartbeat, size, development and position in the womb to offer reassurance at any stage and make sure everything is keeping within normal parameters.
This scan is not intended to replace your detailed anomaly scan from your maternity hospital.
What can I expect on
the day?
When you arrive at UltraScan you will be greeted by one of our amazing receptionists.
Our receptionist will give you a short form to fill out to collect some basic information like your name, contact details and date of birth.
Once your form is complete, your sonographer will call you into the scan room to begin your ultrasound scan which will last approximately 15 minutes.
Each client will be allowed 3 guests per appointment.
Our scan rooms are equipped with large medical-grade LED screens to allow you to see your baby’s heartbeat at your scan.
After your scan you can select your favourite scan images from our touchscreen displays and have them printed on our professional-grade photo printer and emailed or sent via Whatsapp to allow you to immediately share with family and friends.
You will be allowed 3 guests per appointment.

WHAT IF I AM LATE FOR MY SCAN?
Clients should try to arrive 5 minutes before appointments to fill out forms. We are extremely busy and unfortunately, if someone misses their allotted time we will not be able to see them and you will have to rebook a new appointment.
WHAT HAPPENS AFTER MY SCAN?
With UltraScan you can have your late reassurance scan images and videos sent to you via Whatsapp or email. This enables you to share them easily and download them for safekeeping.
You will receive 5 glossy small scan photo prints and your two favourite scan pictures professionally printed in 6”x4” photos.
CAN I BRING ANYONE WITH ME?
We are currently allowing 3 guests to attend appointments with each client.
